Summary

Sun-kissed beaches, ancient golden temples, bustling street food markets brimming with exotic flavors, and lush jungles hiding hidden waterfalls, all woven together in the land of smiles.

Here for 2 years on a long-term assignment I got to see and do it all.

It really is the gateway to asia I think everyone should visit once in their life, theirs a reason Thailand is one of the most popular tourist destinations in the world.

Official Travel Advice

From the Australian DFAT Smartraveller

Exercise a high degree of caution

Challenges

Police are something different, not a worry if you have cash in your pocket but just hope you don't need their help

Do

Rent a motorbike, it's surprisingly easy and safe, don't drink and drive

Travel during a festival. Thailand has so many unique, fun and engaging ones to choose.

Come in the shoulder seasons, yes it will rain but usually not for long and you get all the discounts and no queues

Dont

Just stick to Chiang Mai or Phuket, there a so many satellite towns and islands that do it better without the crowds
