From the serene northern hills dotted with elephant sanctuaries and traditional villages to the lively southern islands offering world-class diving and nightlife, the country offers a diverse tapestry of experiences.

While known for its warm hospitality and delicious cuisine, Thailand also grapples with complex political dynamics and social issues, making it a fascinating destination that blends cultural richness with contemporary challenges.

Challenges

Police corruption is rampant and sometimes unavoidable. Always be ready to pay a bribe or get done for something you didn't do.

Do

Don't miss some of the offbeat 'ancient' places like Ayutthaya, Nan and Sukhothai.

Take a grab/bolt bike places, you order them like any Uber but ride on the back. They're actually quite skilled so don't stress too much about danger.

Got any broken tech? Take it to MBK in Bangkok for a very cheap once-over and enjoy the experience.

Dont

Avoid the Full Moon Party, it's really not any different to an average walking street except the drinks are super strong and its a logistical nightmare to get in/out.

Just stick to Phuket island, ensure you leave the island and explore the surrounds like Phi Phi and Krabi - Phuket itself is very underwhelming.
